This is encouraged by fasting as Kapha dosha does very well on less food and needs less food than Vata or Pitta dosha, so fasting in the spring is perfect for pacifying Kapha dosha. One of the most supportive TASTES for pacifying Kapha dosha is the Bitter taste (or Tikta). Even though we don’t have much of a pallet for the bitter taste, it is SO supportive of the Kapha dosha. Look for bitter greens such as Dandelion greens, radicchio, rocket/arugula, endive/chicory, nettles, mustard greens, broccoli rabe/rapini, turnip greens etc.

Kapha dosha also loves warm teas, especially bitter herbs like dandelion, turmeric, nettle and of course amazing green tea. Other Kapha pacifying teas include ginger, clove, cinnamon, liquorice, cardamom, cumin, black pepper, peppermint, tulsi, and fenugreek (and the amazing free radical fighter Guayusa in Peru!) 

Kapha pacifying practices are focused on keeping the body moving. No longer “leaning in” to lethargy, but moving in the other direction. The blood wants to pump and fill up with fresh oxygen. A change of scenery is also supportive of the Kapha dosha. 

Nature as our guide, because we are in the world, and the world is in us.
